Kikayism: the "new" art-ism. femme-ism.

kikay-ISM.-ism" marks a word as one signifying a theory, or system of principles; a distinctive or characteristic trait; a practice or behavior. "kikay" is a Filipino slang word- hip, trendy, kitsch, femme.

Kikayism is a celebration of how today’s modern Filipina’s desire to express herself through her personal preferences and style, yet still aware of the role we must play in today’s society. Hence Kikayism proudly supports locally made products, as much as possible, made by locals from various provinces, all simply looking to earn a little extra income through creativity and hard work. Today’s Filipina needs to be headstrong, clear-thinking, while maintaining all sense of originality through diverseness; thus we at Kiyakism are true believers in unique and original designs. Today’s modern Filipina should be no less naive than the Filipino male; Kikayism believes that beauty exists through a series of everlasting changes, which is why we support the women who brave all odds and social stigma, and have ventured into the competitive world of entrepreneurship. As consummate practitioners of a variety of outlets of creativity; ranging from handcrafting jewelry, painting, photography, fashion design and the like, we are always looking for ways to improve our talents, skills, and endeavors.
